About RLM Amusements

My name is Rodney Minch and I am the owner of RLM Amusements.  I have been playing arcade games and pinball machines for as long as I can remember. I spent a good portion of my youth at various arcades in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Many great places such as Putt Putt Golf & Games, Funway Freeway next to the Movies at Woodland (later to become Fun Factory) and Aladdin's Castle in North Kent Mall.

In the late '90s I bought my first arcade game - a Data East Bad Dudes.  It didn't work but I was intrigued by the idea of learning to fix it and bring it back to life. I fixed it and so started my obsession! Soon after, I got my first pinball machine - a Data East Batman. After only a couple of years I had over 30 arcade games and pinball machines in my personal collection.

In 2012 I took my love of competitive pinball and started the Grand Rapids Pinball League . The pinball league meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at RLM Amusements. I also host a weekly pinball tournament at RLM Amusements every Thursday at 7pm.  It is open to players of all ages and skill levels.  You can find more information about the weekly tournaments on our Tournament page.  

After working in the IT field for 20 years, I decided to take my passion for pinball machines and arcade games and start my own business - RLM Amusements. It was one of the best decisions I ever made! I feel very fortunate that I was able to take something I really enjoy and make it a career. Pinball and arcade games have had a big resurgence in the last 10 years and it's great to see these games on location all over the country for everyone to enjoy again.  I'm happy to be able to be a part of that resurgence.
